LIFE LIGHT
COMMUNITY CHURCH
We are a church plant birthed out of Sonrise Church, Hillsboro in 2020. We are a community of believers with a diversity of ethnicities and nationalities.
Life Light Community is a Church that associates locally with Church Venture Northwest and nationally with Venture Church Network.
GATHER
We GATHER to worship (Acts 2:42; Romans 12:1; Hebrews 10:25), our Lord, as people (1 Peter 2:10) ransomed by God (Psalm 49:7-8 and 15; Hosea 13:14; Mark 10:45b; 1 Timothy 2:6; 1 Peter 1:18-19), by the preaching of the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), which is the power of God to salvation (Romans 1:16) by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
TRANSFORM
We are being TRANSFORMED (Romans 12:2), from one degree of glory to another (2 Corinthians 3:18), by the teaching and the preaching of the word of God (2 Timothy 4:2; Acts 20:27), being built together as a spiritual house (1 Peter 2:5) and into a dwelling place for God (Ephesians 2:22) through Jesus Christ and by the Spirit.
SHINE
Through the powerful work of the Spirit of God (John 14:26; John 16:8 and 13; Titus 3:5), enabling us to live the LIFE of Jesus (John 10:10, Matthew 5:1-7:27) and to SHINE (Matthew 5:16) the LIGHT of Christ, as witnesses (Acts 1:8) in our community and all around for the glory of God (Colossians 3:17; 1 Corinthians 10:31).
MEMBERSHIP
We believe the Scriptures teach that when a person accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, they become a child of God (John 1:12; Romans 8:15; Ephesians 1:5; 1 John 3:1) and a member of the body of Christ (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:12; 27; Ephesians 5:30). The church is not a human organization that you join, but a gathering of believers that you associate yourself with for a common goal (John 4:24; Ephesians 4:3-5; 15-16). This association does provide many privileges such as fellowship, care and support, but also carries responsibilities.
Those who choose to fellowship in a particular local church, place themselves under the care and discipline of the elders, as well as sharing the responsibility financially for the maintenance of the ministries that are part of that local church. Anyone desiring to be recognized as part of our fellowship should contact one of the elders (1 Corinthians 9:1-14; 2 Corinthians 8:1-9:15; Hebrews 10:19-25).
